Can we declare a do-over?

Two candidates endorsed by Rescue Murrieta, Gary Thomasian and ? Sparks ( he didn’t mention his name at the podium) introduced themselves to the council. Councilman Seyarto suggested that a debate between the new guys and the guys at risk of being fired take place. Later during the pulled items public commentary, a man stated that a debate would be unnecessary, considering the recall as a referendum on the job they have done, the track record of which should speak for itself. They should be denied the opportunity to debate.

  • Mr. Seyarto... residents of Murrieta don't need you to debate anyone. We have watched you in action for years and it is not like we don't know you... your views are obvious, your attitude is over-bearing, and your ability to relate to others is questionable. Do us all a favor and step aside.

  • Mr. Seyarto's comment has brought something to the surface that has not been previously mentioned. Why aren't VanHaaster or McAllister defending their places as aggressively as Mr. Seyarto? Has the complacency of established order led VanHaaster to believe this will just blow over? You would think that McAllister's real estate consultancy would suffer when he no longer has an "in" at the city council chambers.

  • It's one thing to look at life as a controller, and another entirely to look as one controlled. When you travel through dense traffic and constant road damage/construction, you can afford to be very forgiving of yourself.

Others, however, can only endure the damage to their cars, the additiuonal time they have to pad their schedules so as not to be late for appointments, the destroyed roads around town that you continue to deny exist, and the obvious personal agendas that motivate the city council. That is for the rest of us.

When K. Seyarto is in this mess (he commutes)he sees none of that, all he sees is how right he is and how all he has done has been for Murrieta's own good. The comment about denial was well placed. Mr. Seyarto is right, and that's it, end of story.
