The City Council expressed a desire to put other items on the recall ballot to get maximum value out of this special election. Here’s an idea, how about a slow growth initiative?
I would like to know who the genius is that approved two major construction projects, both impacting the same area (old town, Murrieta) at the same time.
The RECALL HAS MY VOTE, but maybe we're overlooking someone...
Murrieta has a city manager form of government. The city council approves a project, the mayor signs it, and it's up to the city managers, Lori Moss, Teri Ferro, Jim Holston, and Chris Paxton to make it happen. It seems that once a problem is defined, a solution is assigned to an independent consultant, who makes recommendations that the council can either follow or ignore. There is much finger pointing regarding who is at fault, but the best way I think to deal with our current situation is to remove the current council, re-evaluate the current organizational structure in the city manager's office, and put an immediate freeze on new construction, especially civil construction, until all current works in progress are complete.
I have created this blog as a place for all Murrietans to post facts and opinions concerning the city and the people of Murrieta, California. Please keep your comments well thought out and civil. The opinions expressed in this blog come from independent sources throughout the community and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the management.
